It's Saturday evening, thinking & remembering through the week comes easily. Most days at the store, we handle incoming quilt requests and work on custom orders. Thursdays, however, and Saturdays are different.
Today, the "man" went fishing. It was just us girls. Women, actually. We sewed and quilted and talked. We had a few visitors- now that the Farmer's Market next door is mostly closed until next growing season, the only "customers" were those who needed to cash checks. The rest of us were sewing or quilting. Or cutting out the next quilt.
The week has been a joy. Even though the school year has started, we're still getting visitors from afar. The craft fairs this weekend have brought in a number of people, all of whom have much to share. Even better are the friends who drop in- even if they can't stop to sit-n-sew while there. (That's you, Marsha!)
New friends are great fun, too! One lady turned out to be the owner of the bait shop in Kingston- but she's a quilter! Hubby goes by that bait shop when he goes to fish! Small world. Market & Festival were last week in Houston. I didn't get to attend but one of the winners in the quilt show turns out to be a friend of a friend. Isn't there a book about "6 links away" or something like that? In this case, I'm only 2 links away! Maybe Melissa Sobotka will rub off on me through my "half-sister" Janet Martin Slaughter!
I got to meet my 2nd FaceBook friend face-to-face today. She brought her mom in, her sister and niece- they all sew! YAY! New recruits! (I doubt they see it that way but they'll be back!)
